All-on-X full arch implants replace a failing or edentulous arch with four to six precision-placed implants and a permanent monolithic zirconia restoration — not acrylic, not removable dentures, not implant dentures. Permanent replacement teeth for the entire arch. The All-on-X procedure is the last full arch restoration you will ever need — Venice, FL.
“The ‘X’ in All-on-X is more than a number. It means your restoration is built for your bone, your face, and your life — not someone else's.”
— Dr. Meenachi Sellappan, DDS · Kois Center Graduate
All-on-X full-arch implants are designed for people whose remaining teeth can no longer be predictably maintained, who are missing most or all of an arch, or who are tired of living with an unstable removable denture.
At Smile Spot Dentistry in Venice, Florida, Dr. Meenachi Sellappan evaluates more than the missing teeth. Bone, gum tissue, bite, facial proportions and overall health help determine whether a fixed full-arch restoration is appropriate — and how it should be designed for you. Restoring the entire arch also supports facial structure and helps maintain bone density, which is part of why a fixed, non-removable result can look more youthful than a removable prosthesis.
Severely damaged, extensively restored or decayed teeth with a poor long-term prognosis.
Full or partial edentulism affecting an entire arch.
Movement, discomfort or difficulty eating with a removable prosthesis.
Bone atrophy or residual ridge deterioration after long-term tooth loss.
For patients exploring a non-removable full-arch alternative.

Question 1 of 4
More than a procedure — a complete, customized plan for function, aesthetics and long-term health.

Your bone, restorative space, bite and implant positions are evaluated with 3D CBCT imaging and digital planning software before surgery. This lets us anticipate challenges and design a precise, predictable plan.

Implants are placed at precise angulations to maximize available bone — often avoiding bone grafting. By tilting the posterior implants, Dr. Sellappan accesses the denser anterior bone, which increases initial stability and allows for an immediate provisional restoration when appropriate.

The final implant count — 4, 5 or 6 — is determined by your anatomy, bone quality, bite and long-term goals, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. The right number in the right positions is what carries the restoration for decades rather than years.

Your new smile is designed to harmonize with your facial proportions, lip position and smile display — not just your jawbone. Where additional facial mapping is useful, RayFace can be incorporated as another digital planning tool.

We use Kois principles to create a stable, functional bite that protects your restoration, your remaining teeth and your temporomandibular joints. Distributing occlusal forces evenly is what keeps a heavy bite from overloading the arch.

Gingival architecture is shaped to look natural — no flat, artificial appearance. We use biologic principles and, when appropriate, PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) to support osseointegration, reduce swelling and speed soft-tissue recovery.
Facial Integration
We evaluate your facial proportions, lip dynamics, smile arc and incisal edge position as part of the design process — including the interpupillary line where it helps. This supports a smile that looks natural, supports your profile and fits you, not just your jaw.

When indicated
RayFace can be used as an additional digital planning tool to help relate the smile design to your facial landmarks and proportions.
RayFace is not required for every case — it is one of several tools we use when it adds value to your treatment plan.
A stronger foundation. A more natural smile. A lifetime of confidence.
At Smile Spot Dentistry in Venice, Florida, Dr. Meenachi Sellappan, DDS, Kois Center Graduate, plans each full-arch implant restoration around the patient's bone, anatomy, bite and facial proportions. Here is how the parts relate.
Layer 1
The Bio-Foundation
16-FOV CBCT maps bone density and nerve pathways to 0.1mm — defining exactly where implants can and cannot go.
Layer 2
Strategic Implant Angulation
Posterior implant position and angulation are determined by available bone and patient anatomy — often reaching dense anterior bone and avoiding the sinus without grafting. Unlike removable dentures, implants stimulate the surrounding bone — preserving jaw structure that would otherwise deteriorate.
Layer 3
Passive Fit Interface
Multi-unit abutments level the tilted implants into a perfectly flat platform. No internal tension. No stress on healing bone.
Layer 4
Facially Informed Design
Smile position, facial midline, lip dynamics and smile arc guide the restoration — not just the jawbone.
The material used for a final All-on-X restoration matters. At Smile Spot Dentistry in Venice, Florida, Dr. Meenachi Sellappan uses monolithic zirconia for the definitive fixed full-arch restoration after implant integration and restorative verification. Unlike an acrylic or resin provisional, zirconia provides a dense ceramic surface, high fracture resistance, precise digital fabrication and natural dental aesthetics for long-term function.
The provisional restoration worn during healing has an important job: it allows us to evaluate comfort, bite, tooth position and aesthetics while the implants integrate. Once healing is confirmed, those findings inform the definitive zirconia restoration.
Monolithic zirconia has a dense, polished ceramic surface that resists staining and does not absorb odor in the way some acrylic restorative materials can.
Designed from the final implant and multi-unit abutment positions, allowing the prosthetic interface and passive fit to be carefully verified.
Zirconia provides high fracture resistance for an implant-supported full-arch restoration, while eliminating the individual acrylic denture teeth that can wear, chip or detach from some traditional prostheses.
Tooth form, incisal translucency, surface texture and gingival characterization can be designed to create a natural-looking smile rather than an opaque or denture-like appearance.
Provisional vs. definitive
The same-day provisional restoration has a different purpose. It protects the implants during healing while allowing Dr. Sellappan to evaluate bite, phonetics, tooth position, smile design and function. After osseointegration is confirmed, those clinical findings guide fabrication of the definitive monolithic zirconia restoration.
Science. Craftsmanship. A healthier, more confident you.
All-on-X can be life changing — but the results depend on how it's planned, placed and restored. At Smile Spot Dentistry in Venice, Florida, Dr. Meenachi Sellappan uses a fully integrated, physician-led approach designed around your anatomy, function and long-term goals.
Full-arch treatment may begin primarily with available bone and implant position.
Treatment begins with anatomy, function and the planned restoration. RayFace 3D facial analysis is available when clinically indicated to add facial midline, lip dynamics and smile-design information to the restorative plan.
Implant placement may be performed freehand or with varying levels of digital guidance.
CBCT-guided implant planning and an in-house 3D-printed surgical guide translate the digital plan to surgery. Final implant position is determined by the patient's anatomy and the physician-led treatment plan.
Some full-arch protocols are built around a predetermined implant number or configuration (e.g., All-on-4).
All-on-X means the implant number and angulation are selected for the individual case — based on bone anatomy, restorative requirements and biomechanical planning rather than a fixed All-on-4 formula.
Full-arch restorations may use acrylic, hybrid, resin or ceramic materials depending on the treatment protocol and stage of care.
A resin provisional serves during healing; the definitive fixed full-arch restoration is monolithic zirconia, selected for strength, precise fabrication, cleanability and natural dental aesthetics.
Imaging, surgery and restorative design may be performed through separate workflows or providers.
16-FOV CBCT, iTero digital scanning, restorative planning and guided surgery are integrated into one physician-led workflow in Venice, Florida, with RayFace available selectively when additional facial information benefits smile design.
Same science. A higher standard.
All-on-X treatment at Smile Spot Dentistry in Venice, Florida follows a physician-led sequence from CBCT and digital planning through implant surgery, osseointegration and the definitive monolithic zirconia restoration. When implant stability and the clinical conditions support immediate loading, Dr. Sellappan can fabricate a fixed provisional arch in-house on surgery day. When they do not, healing takes priority.
A plan built around you.
We use 16-FOV CBCT, iTero digital scans and a complete clinical records analysis to plan your implants and restoration — with facial, bite and functional considerations.
Precision and flexibility.
Failing teeth are removed and implants are placed using a digitally planned surgical guide. PRF is applied to support healing. During surgery, implant stability is evaluated to determine if a same-day provisional is appropriate.
If immediate loading is indicated
Same-day fixed provisional
A provisional resin arch can be designed and 3D printed in-house with SprintRay Pro, then fitted and adjusted chairside before you leave.
If additional healing is indicated
Protect the implants first
An appropriate interim solution is used while the implants heal. The definitive restorative plan remains unchanged.
A strong foundation.
Over 3–6 months, the implants integrate with your bone. During this time we monitor healing, bite, function and your provisional restoration (if placed). A soft food diet protects the implants early on, while you speak, smile and eat normally throughout.
A lifetime of function.
After osseointegration and restorative verification, your final monolithic zirconia arch is fabricated and delivered — a fixed restoration designed for strength, cleanability and natural beauty.
Same-day teeth are a clinical decision — not a package.
Dr. Sellappan determines whether immediate loading is appropriate from implant stability, bone quality, anatomy, bite and the overall surgical and restorative plan. The consultation is where this is answered, using your 16-FOV CBCT data.

See the entire foundation.
Our 16-field-of-view cone-beam CT scanner captures both arches in a single low-dose scan — mapping bone density, bilateral sinus cavities, bilateral nerve canals and the full occlusal plane to 0.1mm precision. For full arch cases where four to six implant positions must be planned across the entire jaw, this level of volumetric detail is not optional. Every implant position, angle and depth is pre-programmed before surgery begins.
Used where facial design leads the case.
Aligning to your interpupillary line and facial midline helps create a smile that looks like it always belonged to you. RayFace 3D is used when indicated to add facial analysis and smile-design information to the treatment plan.
Eliminates physical impressions entirely. Digital maps ensure your bridge fits passively — without placing stress on the implants during the critical healing phase.
Fabricated in-house before surgery day. Each guide ensures implants are placed in the precise position planned digitally — enabling keyhole surgery with less swelling and faster healing.
Your own blood is drawn and concentrated into a healing matrix applied at the implant site. Supports osseointegration, reduces swelling, and uses your own biology to aid healing.
Same-day teeth. In-house.
Our in-office SprintRay Pro prints your provisional arch on surgery day — while you are under sedation. A CAD-designed, custom-fitted temporary restoration is built, polished and attached before you leave. No outside lab, no waiting.
Science you can trust.
Dr. Sellappan places Straumann implants — one of the most clinically researched implant systems available, with decades of peer-reviewed evidence behind every fixture. Implant brand matters: thread design, surface texture and osseointegration science are not equal across systems.

The All-on-X (all on x) procedure is a full mouth dental implants solution that replaces an entire arch using four to six strategically placed implants. The All-on-X treatment is distinct from standard protocols — the "X" represents the bespoke implant count determined by your bone structure. The All-on-X technique delivers permanent replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
All-on-X is designed for patients with failing, severely damaged, or missing teeth who want a permanent fixed solution. It is also ideal for patients frustrated with unstable dentures. Dr. Sellappan will evaluate your bone volume and overall health using 16-FOV CBCT 3D imaging at your consultation.
In many cases, no. By strategically angling the posterior implants, Dr. Sellappan can utilize the denser anterior bone — often eliminating the need for bone grafting entirely. This is one of the key clinical advantages of the All-on-X technique.
It depends on whether your implants achieve proper primary stability on surgery day — something Dr. Sellappan assesses in real time during placement. When stability is confirmed, our SprintRay Pro 3D printer fabricates your provisional arch in-office while you recover, and it is fitted before you leave. When additional healing is the safer path, a comfortable interim solution is provided. Either way, you are not left without a plan. The honest answer is: we will tell you at consultation what your bone and anatomy make likely — and we won't promise something your case doesn't support.
The final permanent restoration is monolithic zirconia — not the acrylic plastic used in discount centers. Zirconia is non-porous, odor-resistant, and possesses the translucency of natural enamel. It is the most durable and most beautiful material available for full arch restorations.
The planning phase typically takes 2–3 appointments before surgery day. After implant placement, the osseointegration healing phase takes 3–6 months depending on bone quality and healing. The final zirconia restoration is then placed at a follow-up appointment.
Full arch implant cost varies based on the number of implants required, whether extractions are needed, and the material of the final restoration. At Smile Spot Dentistry, our All-on-X cases use monolithic zirconia — not acrylic — which is a premium material that lasts decades longer. We provide a complete, transparent treatment plan at your consultation. CareCredit and Cherry financing are available to spread your investment over time. Most dental insurance plans do not cover full arch implants, but HSA and FSA funds may be applied.
All-on-4 is a specific technique using exactly four implants. All-on-X refers to our approach of using the bespoke number of implants — 4, 5, or 6 — that your bone density, anatomy, and long-term biomechanics require. Many patients benefit from additional implant support for redundancy and occlusal distribution. Dr. Sellappan determines the right number using 16-FOV CBCT 3D bone mapping — not a standard protocol.
